The active ingredients contained in this formula have not been shown to be contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation.

Thyroplex contains ingredients that can affect the metabolism of thyroid hormones. Monitor patients already taking thyroid medications including thyroxin.

Concomitant use of antithyroid medications with iodine may result in additive hypothyroid activity. Concurrent use is not recommended.

Concomitant use of potassium iodide with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers may increase the risk of hyperkalaemia.

Amiodarone contains 37.3% iodine. Monitor thyroid function with concurrent use of iodine.

Tyrosine may decrease the effectiveness of levodopa due to competition for absorption in the small intestine. Avoid unless under medical supervision, and separate doses by at least two hours.

Tyrosine may have additive effects with thyroid hormone medication or central nervous system stimulants.

Concurrent use of tyrosine and antidepressant medications (including monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) may theoretically result in elevated blood pressure and/or antidepressant effects.
